Overview
Internships are immersive workplace experiences that combine employer-led tasks, structured learning goals and assessed evidence of competency. EduLinked supports providers to design and deliver internships that are auditable, inclusive and valuable to employers.
Internships vs work experience
Internships are generally longer, include formal learning outcomes and assessed competency claims. They often involve mentorship, deeper on-the-job tasks and may be credited or paid. Work experience is shorter exposure and practice; internships require stronger assessment design and employer partnerships.
Who this is for
RTOs, TAFEs, secondary schools running senior industry programs, employers seeking structured talent pipelines, and funders of workplace-integrated learning.
Program models
- Credited internships: mapped to units/qualifications, assessed by RTO standards.
- Micro-internships: short, focused workplace tasks (1–4 weeks) for skill sampling.
- Paid industry placements: employer-funded internships with workplace supervision.
- Project internships: task-based placements producing a workplace deliverable.

Evidence & assessment
We design practical evidence capture for real work: short supervisor observations, learner portfolios (photo/video/text), reflective logs and employer verification. All evidence is packaged to meet RTO audit requirements and includes metadata for learner adjustments and assistive technology use.
