Digital Accessibility Audit — practical, people-focused audits
Our audits combine technical WCAG checks, manual review and real-user testing so you understand practical barriers and receive a clear, prioritised plan for improvement.
Auslan and alternative format reports available on request.
Why a digital accessibility audit?
Audits show where people encounter barriers and give you an actionable plan. We focus on outcomes that matter: people can complete key tasks, content is understandable, and interactive elements work with assistive technologies.
Beyond automated scans, our audits include manual checks and user testing so recommendations reflect how people actually use your site or app.
Audit types — choose the level you need
Rapid spot-check
Focused review of a single page or critical flow (eg. registration, checkout). Combines automated scan + manual keyboard/screen-reader checks and a short, prioritised report.
Standard website audit
Comprehensive manual WCAG checks across representative pages, automated scanning, and a prioritised set of issues with impact and estimated effort.
Full audit + user testing
Standard audit plus moderated user testing with people who use assistive technologies, sessions recorded with consent and practical recommendations informed by observations.
Mobile / app audit
Accessibility evaluation for mobile apps or responsive sites, including touch targets, platform conventions and assistive technology compatibility.
LMS & learning content
Review of course materials, documents, quizzes and learning workflows so students can access learning regardless of device or support needs.
Custom engagements
Tailored combinations: procurement review, assistive tech compatibility checks, or support for vendor platforms and third-party tools.
Our audit process
We keep audits simple and collaborative. Below is a typical flow — we adapt this to your scale and needs.
1. Scope & discovery
We agree on pages, critical flows and user groups. We ask about goals, timelines and systems (CMS, third-party tools).
2. Automated & manual review
Automated scans find detectable issues; manual review covers keyboard access, semantic structure, form behaviour and content clarity.
3. User testing (optional)
We recruit and run short sessions with people who use assistive tech. Sessions prioritise dignity and consent and focus on real tasks.
4. Report & remediation plan
Deliverables include a prioritised findings list (quick wins → larger items), annotated examples, and suggested fixes or code snippets.
5. Support & verification
We can assist with remediation, QA and a verification pass to confirm fixes and hand over accessible documentation for maintainers.
What you’ll receive
- Clear, prioritised report with impact statements and suggested fixes.
- Executive summary in plain language for leadership and procurement.
- Annotated examples showing how to fix code and content.
- User testing notes (when included) with observed barriers and suggested changes.
- Hand-over materials — authoring checklists, templates and verification guidance.
All deliverables are available in accessible formats (PDF, large print, Word or plain-language brief) on request.
Engagement models & estimates
We offer flexible models. Exact pricing depends on scope (number of pages, complexity and whether user testing is included). Typical options:
- Rapid spot-check: fixed price for a single page or flow and short deliverable.
- Standard audit: scoped site review with prioritised report and action plan.
- Full audit + user testing: standard audit plus moderated user testing and extended recommendations.
- Remediation sprints & retainers: time-boxed remediation or ongoing support and verification.

Frequently asked questions
Automated tools find some issues quickly (contrast, missing attributes, etc.) but cannot judge content clarity, keyboard interaction or real assistive-technology behaviour. Manual checks and people testing reveal these real-world problems.
No. Participant privacy is respected. We obtain consent for testing and share anonymised findings and observations unless explicit permission is given otherwise.
Yes. We can provide hands-on remediation, code examples, pull-request review or work with your team to implement fixes and verify outcomes.
Times vary by scope. A spot-check can be done in a few days; a full audit with user testing typically spans a few weeks including recruitment, testing and reporting. We provide timelines in our proposal.
Request an audit
Tell us briefly about your site and priorities and we’ll reply with an accessible proposal and timeline. Include your key pages, any launch dates and whether you want user testing included.
If you need help turning an audit into a funded pilot or proposal, tell us and we’ll share suggested scopes and cost estimates that match common funding programs.
