What happens after referral

Acknowledge & triage: we confirm we received the referral and check urgency.
Consent & scoping: we contact guardian and key staff to confirm consent and clarify goals.
Assessment & trial: short scoping or trial is arranged (e.g. AT 2–6 weeks) with checklists and training.
Review & handover: we review outcomes and provide a clear report and procurement notes if recommended.

Deliverables may include device configuration, trial checklist, short staff/family training and a trial outcomes summary.

Frequently asked

Who pays for specialist devices?
Short trials are provided where available. Long-term procurement is usually the responsibility of the adopting organisation or family. We provide procurement-ready specifications and advice.
Is a clinician required for some devices?
Yes. Devices such as eye-gaze systems often need clinical input. We coordinate clinical partners or recommend referral paths.
How long does a trial take?
Typical trials run 2–6 weeks. Time to start depends on urgency, availability and complexity.
What if the student is at school?
We work closely with teachers, SSO/IT and school leaders to integrate devices and provide teacher-facing training and Easy Read classroom prompts.
Who can see referral information?
We only share details with trusted partners, clinicians and the referrer as required — and only with consent.

Urgent concerns & safeguarding

If the referral includes a safety concern

Include this in the referral and mark the referral as urgent. We follow local safeguarding procedures and will triage urgent referrals quickly.

If the situation is an immediate risk to life or safety, contact emergency services first. For urgent online safety, mark the referral urgent and we will triage promptly.

Contact & developer notes

Contact: Email founder@edulinked.com.au for help with referrals or if your CMS prevents uploads.
