What is Amplify Youth Video Voices Lab?
Amplify Youth Video Voices Lab is a planned EduLinked pathway where young people can explore video storytelling in accessible and flexible ways.
Choose
Learners choose how they want to participate, including no-camera and behind-the-scenes options.
Plan
Learners can find a story idea, shape an outline and plan video, audio, images, slides or text.
Create
Learners may create a participant-owned project with access supports and tutor support when available.
Decide
Learners review their project and decide whether to keep it private, share in a group or consider future showcase review if available.
Important: The program is planned as an MVP learning app and course pathway. It is not yet launched.
Learner choice comes first
The planned pathway is designed to protect learner choice and reduce pressure.
No camera required
A learner can choose not to appear on camera. Voice, text, images, slides, captions, transcripts and behind-the-scenes roles are valid.
Private completion is valid
A learner can create a project and keep it private. Public sharing is optional and should never be treated as the only successful outcome.
Story type is flexible
A learner can choose a personal, fictional, educational or advocacy-based story. They do not have to disclose personal experiences.
Decide later is valid
Some choices can be made later. “Not sure yet” and “decide later” should be treated as valid responses.
Access and participation supports
The planned pathway asks what helps the learner take part. Support is based on practical access needs, not on requiring a diagnosis.
- plain-language information
- extra processing time and breaks
- quiet or low-pressure participation options
- written instructions, examples and checklists
- captions and transcripts
- typing or chat-based communication
- support person involvement where appropriate
- non-camera and behind-the-scenes participation
Consent and sharing choices
Creating a project is different from sharing a project.
Create
A learner may take part in learning activities and create a media project.
Keep private
A learner may keep work private or decide later.
Share safely
Sharing with a tutor or small group should use clear consent and review.
Review first
Public sharing, showcase review and online sharing require consent and review.
Supporters should help the learner understand options without pressuring them toward public sharing.
Keeping a project private is a valid outcome.
Privacy and information use
EduLinked may collect information to help plan and support participation.
Information may include
- learner or supporter contact information
- access and communication preferences
- participation preferences
- consent choices
- tutor support interest
- project progress information
- feedback, where the learner chooses to provide it
Media safety rule
EduLinked should not publicly share a learner’s name, image, media, quotes or project unless the correct consent and review steps are complete.
Sensitive information such as access preferences, consent choices and tutor notes should be handled carefully and only used for support, safety and program delivery.
Planned live tutoring options
Live tutoring is planned as a support option. It is not guaranteed until staffing, funding and scheduling are confirmed.
Story ideas
Tutors may help learners find a story idea and choose how to take part.
Planning
Tutors may help with outlines, storyboards, captions, transcripts and media planning.
Review and choices
Tutors may help learners review a project and talk through sharing choices before deciding.
Tutors should not pressure learners to appear on camera, share publicly, tell personal stories or promise outcomes.
