Bellbowrie Connected
A community-led program for local digital inclusion — Bellbowrie Connected
Bellbowrie Connected is an EduLinked place-based initiative that helps neighbours, schools and organisations access technology, build capability, and design inclusive programs that last. We combine practical delivery, accessible materials and long-term sustainment planning.
We work with community members, local councils, libraries, schools and funders to design services that meet local needs — from device lending to assistive technology trials, volunteer networks and procurement-ready program design.
What is Bellbowrie Connected?
Bellbowrie Connected is a locally led digital inclusion hub run in partnership with EduLinked. We support residents, schools and community organisations to participate confidently online by providing:
- Device lending and loaner kit programs
- Assistive technology trials & matching
- Practical training and microcredentials for staff and volunteers
- Volunteer networks, local events and community stories
- Technical readiness and procurement-ready sustainment plans
Our mission & principles
Mission: Make local digital participation inclusive, practical and sustainable so everyone in Bellbowrie can take part in learning, services and community life.
Principles
- Accessibility first — Easy Read, Auslan and symbol supports are part of everything we publish.
- Local leadership — residents and local organisations shape programs and delivery.
- Practical outcomes — procurement-ready plans, simple governance and handover for sustainment.
- Capability building — training, volunteer mentoring and documentation so services last beyond pilots.

How we work locally
- Listen: co-design with residents, volunteers and local partners so activities meet real needs.
- Prototype: short pilots to test models (device lending, AT trials, volunteer hosts).
- Document: produce procurement-ready briefs, checklists and accessible materials.
- Build capability: train kit managers, facilitators and volunteers to run services locally.
- Sustain: handover governance and sustainment plans so services run beyond pilots.
Get involved
- Join a group: find local clubs and activities.
- Volunteer: help at pop-ups or manage kits.
- Refer: make a referral for device access or AT trials.
- Partner: start a pilot with us to test and scale solutions.
