In short

The CEF prepares facilitators to run EduLinked learning, device lending clinics and community sessions. It focuses on inclusive facilitation, safety, Easy Read delivery, Auslan-aware practice and practical session planning.

Learning outcomes

By the end you will be able to:

  • Plan and run short, inclusive learning sessions.
  • Use Easy Read steps, symbol supports and Auslan-aware scripts.
  • Apply trauma-aware facilitation and manage group needs.
  • Deliver assistive-technology trials with basic configuration and handover.
  • Evaluate sessions and produce a short facilitator report.

Syllabus — main topics

  1. Facilitation fundamentals: planning, timing, clear instructions and welcoming spaces.
  2. Inclusive & trauma-aware practice: managing diverse needs and safety.
  3. Easy Read & accessible materials: plain language, layout and symbol use.
  4. Auslan-aware practice: short signer scripts, working with interpreters and captions.
  5. Assistive technology basics: simple AT setup, trials and classroom integration.
  6. Delivery practice: run a short session, get feedback and reflect.

Assessment

Assessment is a short facilitator practice task: run a short 20–40 minute session or lead a workshop activity, submit a short facilitator report, and reflect on feedback. Facilitators receive practical feedback and, on demonstration, a CEF recognition.

We give a reasonable timeframe after workshop delivery; this is confirmed when you register.
Do I need prior facilitation experience?
No — helpful experience is useful, but the program teaches practical steps and gives coaching for first deliveries.

Yes — facilitator pack, Easy Read templates, Auslan script examples and checklists are provided.
